Sholom M. Weiss is a research staff member at IBM's T.J. Watson Lab. Before joining IBM, he was a professor of computer science at Rutgers University. He has written and co-written many papers on artificial intelligence and machine learning, including a book entitled Predictive Data Mining: A Practical Guide (Morgan Kaufmann, 1997); in addition, he is a fellow of the American Association for Artificial Intelligence and serves on numerous editorial boards. His current research interests emphasize innovative methods of data mining.
