Platform requirements for ABLE

Operating Systems: Any platform supporting Java 2.

Java Tools:

• JDK 1.4
• Eclipse 3.0 for the Eclipse development environment

Installation instructions for ABLE

To install the ABLE Swing executable and documentation files:

1. Download either the Able_All_2.3.0.zip file or the Able_All_2.3.0.tar.gz file, as appropriate.
2. Unzip (or decompress) the downloaded file to a specified drive. This creates the ABLE home directory able_2.3.0.
3. Use the script files located in the .../able_2.3.0/bin directory to start the ABLE Agent Editor.
4. To reduce download times, the optional help and documentation is provided in a docs file that must be downloaded separately. Download and unzip (or decompress) the doc.zip or doc.tar.gz file into the ABLE home directory able_2.3.0, which was created when the executable files were installed.

To install the ABLE development environment for Eclipse:

1. Download the com.ibm.able_2.3.0.bin.dist.zip file.
2. Delete any previous eclipse/features/com.ibm.able.* or eclipse/plugins/com.ibm.able.* directories.
3. Extract the zip contents to your eclipse directory.
4. Restart Eclipse.
