Platform requirements
Operating systems: Windows®, Linux®
Software: Either of these:
- Eclipse (version 1.0 or 2.0)
- WebSphere® Studio (version 4.1 or 5.0)
Installation instructions
In WebSphere Studio
- Download one of the following:
- AperaPlugin_Eclipse_1.0.zip if you have pre-installed WebSphere Studio 4.1
- AperaPlugin_Eclipse_2.0.zip if you have pre-installed WebSphere Studio 5.0.
- Unzip the downloaded file in the Application Developer directory of WebSphere Studio.
- Start WebSphere Studio.
- Using the Windows, Preferences, Workbench, File Association menu items, add the *.pxl as a file type and associate XML Editor to it.
- Create a "Simple" project with the name "Performance Models"; then select the project and use the pop-up menu to Refresh from Local. You should see the sample models in the newly created project.
In Eclipse
- Download one of the following:
- AperaPlugin_Eclipse_1.0.zip if you have pre-installed Eclipse 1.0
- AperaPlugin_Eclipse_2.0.zip if you have pre-installed Eclipse 2.0.
- Unzip the downloaded file into the Eclipse directory.
- Start Eclipse.
- Create a "Simple" project with the name "Performance Models"; then select the project and use the pop-up menu to Refresh from Local. You should see the sample models in the newly created project.
Determining whether APERA is installed and working correctly
Follow these steps:
- Go to the "Performance Models" project.
- Make a copy of WebServicesandEJB.pxl and call it Test.pxl.
- Select Test.pxl and, from the pop-up menu, select Solve Model.
- Refresh the project with Refresh from Local in the pop-up menu; you should see a TestResult.xml file created by APERA.
