What is XML Import tool from ARIS to IBM WebSphere Business Modeler?

This Eclipse plug-in migrates business process models that were generated using IDS Scheer ARIS Platform products to WebSphere® Business Modeler. WebSphere Business Modeler provides robust modeling, simulation, and analysis capabilities for accelerating business process improvement efforts.

This migration enables customers to manage their business life cycle by using the industry-leading WebSphere Business Process Management solution, which was specifically designed for modeling, assembling, deploying, and managing applications that have a service-oriented architecture.

The main features of the tool are as follows:

The package is a zip file containing a JAR file and accompanying documentation.

How does it work?

The tool uses the XML export capability of ARIS platform products to feed the WebSphere Business Modeler. The import extracts the control flow of the business process model, which is described by sequences of alternating functions and events in ARIS. A process model that contains tasks and subprocesses connected by a control flow is created in WebSphere Business Modeler. ARIS object types are mapped to WebSphere Business Modeler elements based on a mapping defined and used by the import. The accompanying documentation describes this mapping in more detail.
