Platform requirements

Operating systems: Any of the following:

  • Linux®:
    • Red Hat EL3, EL4, or EL5
    • Suse SLS8, SLS9, or SLS10
    • Yellow Dog 4.0.1 (Y-HPC)
  • AIX® 5.1 to 5.3

Hardware: Power Architecture™

Installation instructions

  1. Install the RPM package as follows: $ rpm -ihv <packagefile>
  2. Go to the installation directory, as follows: $ cd <installdir>
    By default, <installdir> is /opt/ibm/bprober.
  3. Follow the instructions in the README.txt file in the share/doc subdirectory. These steps include accepting the license agreement, setting some environment variables, and running a test that verifies the success of the installation.
