Cache Advisor was designed with a generic framework that could work with other application servers and other types of dynamic pages. However, this version will analyze only JSPs, and the sample cache policy file will work only in WebSphere Application Server. | | |

A cache policy contains rules that define the behaviour of the cache, including rules about when to cache a request, when to serve a cached request, and when to remove a stored item from the cache. For WebSphere Application Server Dynamic Cache, the cache policies are defined in a cachespec.xml file. Cache Advisor will generate a sample cachespec.xml (cachespecSample.xml), which should be used only as a starting point in creating your optimal cachespec.xml.
