Yuan-Chi Chang is a research staff member at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, New York. He works in the Data Management department and has been involved in catalog search development for the past three years. This alphaWorks release represents his recent effort in conceptualizing and externalizing catalog model for better management and greater flexibility. Dr. Chang is working to develop more autonomous catalog functions that self-manage and self-adapt to changes.

Vamsavardhana Reddy Chillakuru (a.k.a. Vamsi Reddy) has been working with the IBM India Software Lab since 1996. He obtained his Bachelor of Statistics (Hons) and Master of Statistics degrees from Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta, India, in 1994 and 1996, respectively. For the past four years, Mr. Chillakuru has been working as a software engineer in the Data Management department at IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, New York. For the past year, he has been involved in Catalog Search development.

Vijay Kumar Sethia graduated from Regional Engineering College, Calicut, India, and has been working with IBM India Software Lab since 1996. For the last three years at Watson, he has worked in the area of catalog search as a senior software engineer.
