Platform requirements
Operating systems: Windows® and Linux®. (Other operating systems should work but are little tested.)
Software: Java™ SDK or Run-Time Environment, Version 1.4 or above, (depending on whether you build binaries from sources or use the pre-built binaries (JAR file))
Installation instructions
- Unzip cimassistant.zip, which contains three folders and three files:
- examples: This directory contains some examples of created CIM client-side classes.
- lib: This directory contains the necessary Java libraries (JAR files) for this tool.
- licenses: This directory contains the alphaWorks® 90-day Trial License Agreement.
- velocity.properties: This file contains the parameters for application use.
- CIM_ClassTemplate.vm: This file is the template for created CIM client-side classes.
- cimassistant.bat: This file is a Windows-based, executable batch file.
- Download the following Java packages and place the libraries into the lib directory:
- Configure the velocity.properties file according to your own requirements:
- CIM.XXX: These parameters are used for CIM agent connection info, including agent URL, user name, password, name spaces, and class names.
- Template.XXX: These parameters are used as Velocity template properties, including package name, author, and version information.
- Edit the content of the cimassistant.bat file as needed to make sure all the directories and file paths are correct.
- In order to launch the programming assistant tool, double-click on the cimassistant.bat file.
