Platform requirements for Replication Monitoring Center for DB2

Platforms: Every platform that supports Java 2, Version 1.4.x. For GUI usage, Swing support is required. Since not all platforms are supported by the InstallShield, there is a technique for installing the tool on one platform (such as Windows 2000) and copying the executables to other platforms. See the Release.html file for that.

Disk space: Up to 40 MB, including a Java 1.4.x run-time environment. Differs from platform to platform. The application executables themselves have a size of about 5 MB without the InstallShield, uninstallation features, and Java run-time environment.

Java tool: Supports preinstalled J2SE 1.4.x. When no pre-existing J2SE is found, Java 1.4.0 or 1.4.1 is automatically installed.

1. Download the appropriate installation package for your platform:
   • Windows
   • AIX
   • Linux

2. Install the package. On Windows systems, execute the installation file. You will be guided through the installation process.
3. Start the application using the provided command files and desktop links. Further information about program usage can be found in the users guide that is also installed with Replication Monitoring Center for DB2.
