Platform requirements for URI Access for DB2

Operating systems: Windows® NT, 2000, XP; Linux®; AIX
Disc space: about 1 MB
Java tool: an application server such as WebSphere®, WebSphere embedded, or Tomcat
Software: DB2® Version 8 Fixpack 2 or above

Installation instructions for URI Access for DB2

  1. The installation package contains a script that enables a database for URI Access for DB2. Because the script creates a new database schema called DB2Web, you should ensure that your database does not have a pre-existing schema with that name. You should also ensure that all DB2 environment variables are set correctly before running the script.
  2. Extract the zip/tar.gz file appropriate for your platform (DB2URIAccess_AIX.tar.gz, DB2URIAccess_Linux.tar.gz, or DB2URIAccess_Windows.zip).
  3. To call the script, issue the following command for each database:
      enableDatabase.bat $databaseName [$dbLogin $dbPassword]
After you run the script, all stored procedures, UDFs, and tables are registered under the schema name DB2Web.
  4. URI Access for DB2 is packed to a WAR (Web Archive) file (DB2URIAccess.war). To install this servlet, you must install the WAR file on your application server. Consult the documentation for your server for information about installing files. You might need to set up Java Naming and Directory Interface (JNDI) data sources to make some databases accessible via URI Access for DB2.
  5. Please see the included documentation for instructions on configuring the URI Access for DB2 servlet.
