Platform requirements for Emfatic Language for EMF Development
Operating systems: Any Java-enabled platform
Software:
- Eclipse 3.0.1 (or 3.0)
- EMF 2.0.1 (or 2.0)
- Antlr Eclipse 3.0.5 or Antlr version 2.7.4 (see installation instructions)

Installing Antlr Eclipse
Emfatic depends on the Antlr parser generator framework. The easiest way to install Antlr is to get it from the update site on SourceForge by following these steps:
- In Eclipse, go to Help -> Software Updates -> Find and Install....
- Select Search for new features to install and click on Next.
- Press the New Remote Site... button and enter the following values:
name: Antlr
url: http://antlreclipse.sourceforge.net/updates
- Now check the new Antlr checkbox and click on Next.
- Select version 3.0.5 of the feature org.antlr.ui and click on Next.
- Accept the licensing terms and click on Next and Finish.
- Click on Install when you see a pop-up message warning about unsigned features.
- When prompted, click on Yes to restart the workbench.
Installing Emfatic
- Download and unzip Emfatic. Locate the folder named updateSite in the unzipped file structure.
- Go to Help -> Software Updates -> Find and Install....
- Select "Search for new features to install" and click on Next.
- Press the New Local Site... button, browse to the folder named updateSite in the unzipped alphaWorks download, and click on OK. (For example: If you unzipped the download file in C:\temp, you would browse to C:\temp\Emfatic-0.0.1\updateSite.)
- Now check the checkbox with the path of the updateSite folder and click on Next.
- Select the feature named Emfatic (version 0.0.1) and click on Next.
- Accept the licensing terms and click on Next and Finish.
- Click on Install when you see a pop-up message warning about unsigned features.
- When prompted, click on Yes to restart the workbench.
