Platform requirements

Platforms: All Java™ platforms

Software: JDK 1.1.5 to 1.2.1

Hardware: A computer with sufficient processing power and memory to handle large Java programs (JAR file is 1.6 MB).

Installation instructions

1. Download the file hyperj.zip into a directory of your choice (hereafter referred to as %HYPERJ_DIR%, according to the syntax for environment variables in Microsoft Windows NT).
2. Unzip the file into %HYPERJ_DIR%.
3. Add "%HYPERJ_DIR%/bin/hyperj.jar" to your CLASSPATH. (The HyperJ JAR file, hyperj.jar, is located in the bin subdirectory.)

In order to run HyperJ, use the command %JAVA_COMMAND% com.ibm.hyperj.hyperj <command line options>, where %JAVA_COMMAND% is the command invoked to run the Java interpreter; for example, the command is java when using Sun's JVM. The HyperJ command line options are described in Section 3.1 of the User Manual.

For your convenience, we recommend defining a batch file or some form of shell script to run HyperJ. This script can set the CLASSPATH and run HyperJ.
