Installation instructions for Mobile Phone Event Notification for IBM Director

Installing the sample:

1. Extract the smtpemailalert.zip file into the IBM Director installation directory. On Windows, the default is Program Files\IBM\Director;on Linux, /opt/ibm/director.
2. Restart IBM Director.

Sending alert messages to your mobile phone:

1. Look up the email server name for your mobile phone company.
2. Log in with the IBM Director console.
3. Start the Event Action Plan Builder.
4. Select the action called Send an E-mail to a Mobile Phone.
5. Customize the action by filling in the data, including the destination address, which will be in a format similar to yournumber@yourprovideremailserver.com.
6. Save the customized action.
7. Test the customized action.
8. If the message is received by on your phone, then you are ready to use the action in Event Action Plans.
