Roni Klimer is a research staff member at the IBM Research Lab in Haifa, Israel, in the Multimedia Networking Applications group. Her research interests include IP telephony, communication protocols, and user interfaces. She received her B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Technion Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel, in 1998. Ms. Klimer joined IBM in 1996 and has since worked on several projects involving user interfaces and IP Telephony.

Lev S. Kozakov is a research staff member at the IBM Research Lab in Haifa, Israel, in the Multimedia Networking Applications group. His research interests include object-oriented design and programming, computer telephony, and the man-machine interface. He graduated from Moscow State University in Russia, receiving an M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics in 1973. He was awarded a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science in 1983. Dr. Kozakov joined IBM in 1993 and has since been involved in many different projects. He has published several papers in computer journals and conferences.

Uri Shani is a research staff member of the IBM Research Lab in Haifa, Israel. He graduated from the Technion Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel, with a B.Sc. in Computer Science in 1975, and he was awarded an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. (also in Computer Science) by the University of Rochester, NY, in 1978 and 1980, repectively. Dr. Shani joined IBM in 1983 after working at the Corporate R & D of General Electric. He has been a lecturer at the Technion for several years, and he spent a year with the IBM Research Lab in Hawthorne, NY, in 1989.

Dr. Shani is currently working with the Multimedia Networking Applications group, leading projects in Medical and Telephony R & D. In the past, he has lead projects in the diverse areas of optical disk technology, program partitioning, telephony, and medical applications. His interests lie in computer graphics and GUI, communications, software engineering, and medical applications. The results of Dr. Shani's work have been published in books, journals, international conferences, and internal IBM meetings, and he has several patented inventions.

Pnina Vortman is the project manager of the Multimedia Networking Applications group at the Haifa Research Lab. Her group focuses on the integration of voice and data into applications. Their main interest is Internet telephony and telephony-based applications, and their specialities include Java server development, medical applications, call center solutions, directory servers (LDAP), telephony gateways, audio technology, and broadband telephony solutions.
