4. Why does JUnitX include JUnit test cases?

1. What version of JUnit does JUnitX work with?

JUnitX was tested using JUnit 3.8.1. It is quite possible (in fact, probable) that JUnitX will work with earlier versions of JUnit.

2. What type of assertions does JUnitX implement?

The public methods of junitx.framework.Assert make up the complete set of assertions that JUnitX implements.

3. Do I have to use JUnitX in a JUnit test environment?

No. You can use the JUnitX support classes (in the junitx.framework.util package) in some other environment of your choosing.

4. Why does JUnitX include JUnit test cases?

JUnitX includes a suite of JUnit test cases that assert how it behaves. If you are unsure of how JUnitX should behave under a particular test after reading the JUnitX API documentation for that test, consult the test cases for an example of when the test will pass.
