Platform requirements

Operating systems: Tested on the following:

  • Red Hat Fedore Core 1 and 2
  • SuSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 8.1
  • VMware ESX server

It is assumed that other Linux distributions will also work.

Other software: Root user access

Installation instructions

  1. Copy the NICL script into any directory that is on your system PATH (such as /usr/local/bin), or in any directory that you prefer.
  2. If you put it into a directory that is not in your PATH, you just need to execute it with its full path (such as /opt/IBM/nicl/nicl ...).

Note: You must be the root user to run this program.
