This technology has graduated.

Policy-Based Data Management Tool was integrated with the Network Storage Unit of DB2 Recovery Expert. In addition, the concept and some functionality were incorporated into PMAC (another alphaWorks technology), which was the precursor to emerging Policy technology such as SPL. SPL is now available on Apache as an incubator project: Apache Imperius.

Policy-Based Data Management Tool was developed by the Database Research Team at IBM India Research Labs. This team of researchers has a strong background in database systems, data warehousing, and data mining. The team strives to develop database technologies that solve real-world business problems.

The team consists of Ajay Gupta (Policy Execution), Manish Bhide (Policy Definition), Mukul Joshi (Policy Deployer), Shree Raman (Domain Expert), and Dr. Mukesh Mohania (Concept and Group Manager).
