 | IBM PLACESadmin currently supports only SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics). Nevertheless, you could also import icons to be placed on your map in common Internet image formats such as JPEG, GIF, or PNG. | | |
 | IBM PLACESadmin builds upon IBM PLACES Middleware. It uses the programming APIs provided by IBM PLACES Middleware; these include mapping, positioning, and directory APIs. | | |
 | First you will use various manager utilities in IBM PLACESadmin to import, create, and modify your indoor maps, content, and POIs (Points Of Interests). These indoor spatial data will be input into the database. Then you will use IBM PLACES Middleware to write JSPs or servlets (or other Web technologies) to retrieve and use the spatial data. IBM PLACES Middleware currently implements three services: mapping, positioning, and directory. | | |
 | Download the binaries and start playing with the Web applications. Please see the screenshots for the functions provided in IBM PLACESadmin. | |
