What kind of map format does IBM PLACESadmin accept? IBM PLACESadmin currently supports only SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics). Nevertheless, you could also import icons to be placed on your map in common Internet image formats such as JPEG, GIF, or PNG. Back to top 2. It uses the programming APIs provided by IBM PLACES Middleware; these include mapping, positioning, and directory APIs. Back to top 3. First you will use various manager utilities in IBM PLACESadmin to import, create, and modify your indoor maps, content, and POIs (Points Of Interests). These indoor spatial data will be input into the database. Then you will use IBM PLACES Middleware to write JSPs or servlets (or other Web technologies) to retrieve and use the spatial data.
