What is Dashboard plug-in for IBM Lotus Notes and Sametime which is used with WebSphere Business Monitor?

This plug-in brings WebSphere® Business Monitor's alerts, instances, and key performance indicators to Sametime® and Lotus Notes®. By using the APIs available through WebSphere Business Monitor, this plug-in allows the user to monitor business processes in real time through IBM®'s collaborative software in addition to WebSphere Portal or a Web-based dashboard.

WebSphere Business Monitor provides a visual display of the status of a business process, along with alerts and notifications to key users that enable continuous improvement of business processes.

How does it work?

This plug-in requires WebSphere Business Monitor with a REST services target (which is installed when the Monitor is installed), as well as either Lotus Notes 8 or Sametime 7.5.x. The plug-in is installed by the installer. No special knowledge of REST or additional software is needed to use this technology; the user merely need personalize the installation.

This plug-in was written in Java™.

Mr. Osowski employs his previous WebSphere Application Server and UNIX® experience on a daily basis while installing, deploying, and testing WebSphere Business Monitor.
Alex PeayAlex Peay has worked on the WebSphere Business Monitor project for over three years. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in information systems management. Before joining IBM, Mr. Peay was a project manager at a start-up company.
