About the technology author(s): The AD Tools team is a small team of developers, located in Poughkeepsie, NY, whose mission is to ensure that Enterprise Quality Application Development Tools are available for Linux on zSeries. They are primarily focused on porting existing AD Tools to zSeries Linux from other platforms. They take customer requirements and enhance existing tools or develop new AD tools to meet those requirements. The other side of the department is focused on assisting and consulting with customers and vendors when porting their applications to Linux on zSeries. Porting Manager was developed in response to requests by customers and vendors for a tool that automates part of the porting.
