Resource Model Composer

A pure Java tool whose visual editor allows generation of a concise specification of an IT resource's syntax and whose engine can generically manipulate the IT resources according to this specification.

This technology has graduated.

Resource Model Composer was used during development of z/OS Managed System Infrastructure for Setup (msys for Setup). The generated code is integrated in this product.


About the technology author(s):
Joachim Weber was born in Geislingen/Steige, Germany, in 1970. He studied Communications Engineering in Stuttgart and graduated with a diploma.

In 1994, Mr. Weber joined the IBM Development Lab in Boeblingen and have since worked as a programmer, designer, and architect in several development projects dealing with user interface and ease-of-use aspects, cross-platform programming, operating system development, and system management, mainly for z/OS platforms.

The Resource Model Composer is a result of Mr. Weber's work on a central component of a project that automates the control of literally hundreds of system management resources.
