About the technology author(s)
Dror Orell is a researcher in IBM's research lab in Haifa. He finished his BA in Computer Science (1997) and BSc in Mechanical Engineering (1996) at the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. Mr. Orell's work at HRL is in the field of 3D visualization and GUIs.
Alan Wecker (current project leader) received his AB degree in Mathematics at Princeton University. Currently, he is a research staff member at the IBM Haifa Research Laboratory. Since joining IBM in 1983, he has worked on projects involving pervasive computing, XML, online documentation, hypertext, information retrieval, the Internet, user interfaces, and document image-processing (in particular forms). Mr. Wecker was the project leader for BookManager READ/2, READ/6000, and Infoseeker/400 products. He has received numerous IBM awards, including the User Technology Excellence Award, the Invention Achievement Plateau Award, and the Outstanding Technical Achievement Award. His interests include mark-up languages, software engineering, game theory, combinatorial optimization algorithms, and the use of computers in Judaic studies.
