Platform requirements for developer
Operating systems: Windows® 2000, Service Pack 2 (SP2); XP Professional, Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Service Pack 2 (SP2)
Hardware: at least 100 MB free disk space
Software:
- Internet browser: Internet Explorer 5.5, 6.0, 7.0; Netscape Navigator 8.1; Mozilla 1.7.13; or Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.7 or 2.0
- Java™ tool (one of the following):
- Java Virtual Machine 5.0.0.3085 or above for Internet Explorer
- Java Virtual Machine 1.1.3 or above for Navigator
- Java (IBM) 1.4.2 SR6
- Sun's J2RE 1.4.2_x or 1.5.0_x
- Optional:
- If using audio: Windows Media Player 9 or 10
- If using the Export to Microsoft® Word Document function: Microsoft Office 2000, Service Pack 1 (SP1); or Microsoft XP Professional, Service Pack 1 (SP1)
- If adding synchronization markers to audio or exporting audio into Flash: Windows Media Player 9, 10, or 11
- If using the Export to Adobe® Flash function: Adobe Flash Player version 6, 7, 8, or 9.

Installation instructions
- Uninstall any previously-installed version of IBM® Simulation Producer (SP). Captures created with a previous release, except Version 2.x simulations, can be used with SP 4.2, but please a make a back-up before installing 4.2.
- Download and unzip the file. An SP 42 directory and folder will be created, whence SP 4.2 can be installed.
- Double-click on the Setup.exe icon. You will be guided through the installation process.
- Please take a moment to read the SP 4.2 "Read Me" files for known problems. The "Read Me" information can be found in either the Help file or in the SP 4.2 User's Guide.
