What is SNAPP?

SNAPP is now officially part of AIX® 5L 5.1.

About the technology author(s)

The original versions of SNAPP for AIX and for Linux were designed and implemented by Andrew Taylor, Vandana Kumar, and Brad Cobb. The Linux version of SNAPP remains their original work, but the AIX version of SNAPP was officially incorporated into AIX by the AIX TCP/IP Development Team.

Vandana Kumar is an e-business technologist in the Enterprise Systems Group at IBM. She works with many software vendors in porting and tuning their applications on AIX. Ms. Kumar's specialization is in AIX kernel's linking and loading mechanisms. She works at IBM Corporation, 11400 Burnet Rd., Austin, TX 78758.

Brad Cobb has worked for IBM as a graphics and e-business engineer since 1995. His work in graphics has resulted in the filing of two patents: Automated Triangle Strip Generation and Method and Apparatus for Occlusion Culling of Objects in a Data Processing System.
