Platform requirements

Operating systems: Red Hat Linux 8.0, RedHat Linux 9.0, RedHat Enterprise Linux 3, Fedora Core 2, and Fedora Core 3

Hardware:

  • x86 machines with a minimum of 3 GB of available hard disk space for installing the core simulator files and rootdisk image
  • RAM: The minimum amount of RAM must equal twice the amount of simulated memory. For example, if the simulator is simulating a system with 256 MB of RAM, the host system must have at least 512 MB of RAM.

Installation instructions

  1. Installation media for the simulator is available for a number of host Linux platforms. Download the installation package that is compatible with the version of Linux that you are running on your host system.
  2. In order to install and run the simulator, please extract files from the package and follow the instructions provided in the SystemSim_Installation.pdf document.
