Platform requirements for Telecom Web Services Toolkit Preview
Operating systems:
- Windows® 2000 Service Pack 4
- Windows XP Service Pack 1
- Red Hat Linux® 8.0
- SuSE Linux 8.1 Professional
Computer:
- Minimum of 512 MB RAM; 768 MB RAM or more recommended
- Minimum CPU speed of 800 MHz; 1.8 GHz or more recommended
- 1280 x 1024 or larger color display
- Minimum 16-bit color depth
Software:
- WebSphere Studio Application Developer 5.1.2
- WebSphere Application Server (WAS) 5.1.1 Fix Pack
- WAS 5.1.1.2 (Cumulative Fix 2)
- One of the following:
- Windows 2000 Service Pack 4
- Windows XP Service Pack 1
- Red Hat Linux 8.0
- SuSE Linux 8.1 Professional
Browser: Either of the following versions is recommended:
- Mozilla Version 1.7.x
- Internet Explorer, Version 6, Service Pack 1
Installation instructions for Telecom Web Services Toolkit Preview
Installing prerequisites
- Before you install the Telecom Web Services Toolkit Preview, make sure WebSphere Studio Application Developer is already installed, but not active. WebSphere Studio Application Developer should not be installed in a long path name. For example, it can be installed in one of the following directories: X:\IBM\WSAD[version] or X:\WSAD[version]. When installing WebSphere Studio Application Developer, choose the following options by selecting the check boxes during the installation process:
- WebSphere Application Server 5.1 (installed)
- WebSphere Application Server 5.0.2 (installed)
Note: When starting WebSphere Studio Application Developer on Linux, you should always select gtk as the Window System. You must have GTK 2.0 installed on your system (see the IBM support site for further information). If gtk is not available in the drop-down list provided, cancel the start-up of WebSphere Studio Application Developer and proceed to install and configure the GTK Window System on your machine. Once you have completed this step, proceed to WebSphere Studio Application Developer start-up.
- Install the WebSphere Application Server (WAS) 5.1.1 Fix Pack as follows:
- In WebSphere Studio Application Developer, click on Help > Help Contents. The Information center page will be displayed.
- Click on Reference.
- Expand General.
- Expand Server tools reference.
- Click on WebSphere Application Server maintenance releases. The resuling page provides instructions for obtaining required fix packs and installing them under WebSphere Studio Application Developer.
- Install WAS 5.1.1 Cumulative Fix 2.
Installing the Telecom Web Services Toolkit Preview
- Download the setup.exe file.
- Change to the directory containing the setup.exe file.
- Run setup.exe
- Select the English language from the drop-down list.
- Click on OK.
- Click on Next.
- Accept the license agreement.
- Click on Next.
- Review the readme file.
- Click on Next.
- Review the summary of installation options.
- Click on Next.
- After the set-up program installs the toolkit in the directory structure for WebSphere Studio Application Developer, click on Finish.
