1. Can I import a .ppt file?

No. The .pptx file format is required because the underlying structure is XML, for which we have defined a mapping to WebSphere® Business Modeler. Save the .ppt file as a .pptx in PowerPoint (see the Platform requirements).

2. Can I import architectural diagrams drawn in PowerPoint?

Technically, you can import any valid .pptx file, but it only makes sense to import process diagrams. The relationships illustrated in an architectural diagram would not be rendered in a meaningful way in WebSphere Business Modeler.

3. Does the plug-in recognize PowerPoint 2007 SmartArt graphics?

Yes; process and cycle graphics are recognized and mapped.

4. Can I import multiple slides at one time?

No; this capability has not yet been implemented. Please provide feedback if this feature (or others) is important to you.

5. When I am going through the import dialog windows, I receive a message indicating that a slide preview is unavailable. Why is this?

You are using an earlier version of PowerPoint (not PowerPoint 2007). In order to possibly visualize the slides, cancel out of the import dialog window, open the slides in PowerPoint, then try importing again.
