Platform requirements for IBM Web Services Navigator

Operating systems: Windows® XP, 2000

Java™ tool: IBM Java Run-time Environment for Windows, Version 1.4.2 or above

Software:

• Eclipse Run-time Environment for Windows, Version 3.0.1 or above
• Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF) Runtime, Version 2.0.1 or above

Disk space:

• about 3 MB (for IBM Web Services Navigator)
• 81 MB for prerequisite software)
• 11 MB (for sample log files)

Note: For complete configuration and usage instructions, please refer to the WebsightReadMe.txt file, which will be in the top-level directory after you decompress the ibm.websightView_3.0.3.zip file.

Installation Instructions for IBM Web Services Navigator

For complete configuration and usage instructions, please refer to the included WebsightReadMe.txt file. The file will be in the top-level directory after you decompress the ibm.websightView_3.0.3.zip file.

1. Download the following files into a temporary directory, such as C:\temp:
   • IBM Web Services Navigator plug-in for Eclipse 3.0 (com.ibm.websightView_3.0.3.zip)
   • Sample Web Services log files (SampleWebsightLogs.zip)
2. Unzip the above files into a temporary directory, such as C:\temp.
3. In Eclipse, launch the Install/Update application tool as follows: On the Eclipse tool bar, select Help -> Software Updates -> Find and Install....
4. On the Install/Update: Feature Updates panel, select Search for new Features to install and click on Next.
5. On the Install: Update Sites to Visit panel, uncheck any existing sites listed in this panel. Click on New Local site..., and point to the directory IBMWSNavigator in the temporary directory where you unzipped Web Services Navigator.
6. On the Edit Local Site panel, enter the following values: In the Name field, enter "IBM Web Services Navigator" and click on OK. If this name already exists in the sites list, first remove it.
7. On the Install Update Sites to visit panel, check the IBM Web Services Navigator site and click on Finish.
8. On the Install: Search Results pane, more than one version of Web Services Navigator may be shown. If so, the version numbers will be of the form 3.0.3. Check the most recent version of the IBM Web Service Navigator feature.
9. On the Install: Feature License panel, select I accept the terms in the license agreement and click on Next.
10. On the Install: Install location panel, click on Finish.
11. On the JAR verification: Feature verification panel, click on Install.

Verifying that IBM Web Services Navigator has been installed and initialized

1. On the Eclipse toolbar, select Help > About Eclipse Platform.
2. In the About Eclipse Platform window, click on Feature Details.
3. In the About Eclipse Platform Features window, verify that the feature named IBM Web Services Navigator has version number "3.0.3".

Uninstalling IBM Web Services Navigator

In order to remove IBM Web Services Navigator from your workstation, delete the websight*3.0.3 folders from the Eclipse\plugins and Eclipse\features directories. Neither the Eclipse workbench nor IBM Web Services Navigator creates or modifies any other directories or modifies the Windows registry.
