IBM XL C/C++ for Transactional Memory for AIX

Operating systems: AIX® 5.2, 5.3, or 6.1

Hardware: 100 MB of disk space

Software: One of the following:

• IBM® XL C Enterprise Edition for AIX, Version 9.0
• IBM XL C/C++ Enterprise Edition for AIX, Version 9.0

1. Make sure you have root user access.
2. Run the following command:

   
   % installp -ad . vac.stm
   
   

   The IBM XL C/C++ for Transactional Memory for AIX add-on package consists of the following Installp package: vac.stm.
   
   Within the above Installp package are the following file sets, which will be installed on your system:
   • vac.stm 0.9.0.0
   • vac.stm.tnb 0.9.0.0
3. Before using the compiler, verify that the following environment variables are updated with the correct paths:
   • PATH contains /usr/stm/bin
   • NLSPATH contains /usr/stm/lib/nls/msg/%L/$N

Uninstallation

1. Make sure you have root user access.
2. Run the following command:

   
   % installp -u vac.stm
